You may be a candidate for hair loss treatment if you suffer from:
- Male-pattern or female-pattern baldness: Heredity is the most common cause of balding or thinning hair. It is further exacerbated by age and hormonal changes. The NeoGraft® Hair Transplant
Dr. Shah will typically recommend a NeoGraft® to maximize hair restoration. This method is an advanced type of FUE (follicular unit extraction) hair transplant. Dr. Shah will begin by taking donor hairs from another area on your scalp. Then he will graft them onto the thinning areas using a custom hair transplant design. In this way, he can achieve natural-looking effects, and the new hair will follow the same growth pattern that occurred prior to hair loss. Each graft contains between one and three hairs, so you could have up to one or two thousand grafts in a single session. However, because your scalp will be numb, you will feel virtually nothing. In fact, many patients find the process to be relaxing. They enjoy watching TV or talking to their treatment team during the procedure. If needed, Dr. Shah can perform several sessions to give you the thickest head of hair possible.
In almost all cases, we combine hair transplants with the treatment of existing hair. Laser therapy caps can stimulate hair follicles for improved growth. These low-level diode lasers will fit inside a baseball cap. Therefore, you can discreetly undergo treatment wherever and whenever it is convenient for you. The lasers are available in three different strengths. Your cap could contain 82, 202, or 272 separate lasers. The stronger the laser energy, the more aggressive your treatment. Combining laser caps with a NeoGraft® can also help to reduce shock loss, a condition that can damage the natural hair surrounding a graft site.
