Bharat Shah, MD, FACS joined Mercy Clinic in 1996. His plastic surgery practice encompasses a wide variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, including body contouring and facial rejuvenation procedures, breast augmentation and lift as well as hair restoration. He is the chairman of Mercy Clinic Plastic Surgery, the Medical Director of the Mercy Clinic Medical Spa and serves on the Mercy Clinic Board of Directors.

Dr. Shah is a Chicago native, with undergraduate training at Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Psychology. He received his medical degree at Loyola University- Stritch School of Medicine. He is residency/fellowship trained in multiple disciplines. Dr. Shah completed his ENT residency at the Cleveland Clinic, his facial plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Missouri- Columbia and a plastic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee- Memphis. He recently graduated with a Master of Health Administration degree at Missouri State University College of Business.
Dr. Shah is board certified in Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Fellowship trained in Facial Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has received numerous community awards, including the Missourian Award, Mercy Clinic Physician Community Service Award, 417 Magazine’s Best Plastic Surgeon, Springfield Business Journal’s “Men of the Year” and “12 People You Need to Know” and the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Salute to Healthcare.”
Dr. Shah is the Clinical Advisor to Mercy/Roi’s Strategic Operating Committee, providing direction in improving healthcare efficiency and reducing supply costs.
His research interests are primarily focused on medical innovations, including pediatric craniofacial surgery devices and facial reconstructive technology. Dr. Shah is currently involved in six research projects with the Mercy Medical Research Institute, and is an Adjunct Faculty member of Missouri State University Jordan Valley Innovation Center.
