What is Sofwave?

Starting in our mid-20s, collagen, elastin, and even hyaluronic acid begin their slow retreat.

Sofwave restores these vital elements using proprietary SUPERB™ synchronous ultrasound to gently heat skin at the ideal mid-dermal depth. Simultaneously, a built-in Sofcool™ system keeps the surface comfortable.

In 30-45 minutes, you can return to life looking subtly refreshed, with improvements that continue to blossom for 12 weeks and last a year or more.

How you can benefit from Sofwave:

Whether you're concerned with fine lines, facial wrinkles, or areas of laxity around the brow, neck, or under the chin, Sofwave offers a non-invasive solution tailored to your needs. With just one pass, it stimulates collagen renewal for smoother, firmer skin, delivering natural-looking lift without disrupting your routine. It’s also the first FDA-cleared technology of its kind to treat upper-arm skin laxity, offering a scar-free alternative to traditional procedures.

Backed by FDA indications for wrinkle reduction and lifting of the eyebrows, neck, and submental area, Sofwave helps restore a youthful contour with zero downtime and visible, lasting results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Sofwave?

You’re likely a good candidate for Sofwave if you have mild to moderate skin laxity and want noticeable lift and tightening without surgery or downtime.

  • You may be perfectly suited for Sofwave if you:
  • Want visible lifting and wrinkle smoothing without incisions, sutures, or recovery time
  • Exhibit mild-to-moderate skin laxity along the brow, jawline, neck, or upper arms
  • Have melanin-rich or reactive skin (Fitzpatrick IV-VI, rosacea-prone, or keloid-formers) that makes other treatments, like heat-based or ablative lasers, risky
  • Are looking for a procedure without downtime or sun exposure restrictions
  • Have textural concerns, such as early acne scarring or superficial cellulite dimples

What to Expect: Consultation, Treatment, and Results

A streamlined experience with minimal disruption and meaningful results could include the following:

  1. It all starts with a consultation, during which we’ll assess your medical history and aesthetic goals. We’ll also conduct a comprehensive aesthetic exam to define your treatment map.
  2. To begin your session, we’ll apply a thin layer of gel to the treatment site. Next, you’ll feel gentle ultrasound pulses and continuous cooling—no needles.
  3. You may choose a topical numbing cream, Pronox nitrous oxide for comfort, or more advanced medications for your treatment.
  4. Resulting mild pinkness fades within hours; makeup, workouts, and social plans are welcome the same day.
  5. Results include a progressive glow and early tightness that may appear within one week; lifting, smoothing, and refined contours continue to reveal themselves for 12 weeks and beyond.

Sofwave FAQs:

How is Sofwave different from Ultherapy® or RF microneedling?

How many sessions will I need?

How long do the results last, and when should I schedule maintenance?

Are there side effects or people who should not have Sofwave?

What should I stop or avoid before and after treatment?

How far in advance of a big event should I book?

How is Sofwave different from Ultherapy® or RF microneedling?

Sofwave™ utilizes seven ultrasound beams to focus energy in the mid-dermis, around 1.5 mm deep, minimizing damage to deeper layers and the skin's surface. Ultherapy targets various depths, including muscle fascia, which can lead to discomfort and more swelling. RF microneedling involves physical skin penetration.

How many sessions will I need?

One session is typical for facial lifting and wrinkle reduction; a second treatment at six months can amplify collagen remodeling in patients with moderate laxity or heavier skin. Body indications (upper-arm laxity, cellulite) may require two visits spaced 8–12 weeks apart to reach a larger treatment volume.

How long do the results last, and when should I schedule maintenance?

Collagen continues to mature for up to six months, and most studies report visible improvement for 12 months or longer. Annual maintenance is the consensus recommendation to keep collagen at its peak—similar to scheduling a “skin tune-up” once a year.

Are there side effects or people who should not have Sofwave?

Temporary pinkness, mild swelling, or tender nodules are the most common effects and typically resolve within 24 hours. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients, anyone with an active skin infection, open wounds, or implanted electronic devices near the treatment zone should postpone or avoid therapy.

What should I stop or avoid before and after treatment?

Discontinue retinoids, tretinoin, AHAs/BHAs, and high-dose vitamin C serums 5–7 days beforehand; shave facial hair 24 hours prior; pause blood-thinners or herbal anticoagulants (if medically acceptable) for two weeks to minimize bruising. Makeup and normal skincare may resume the next morning.

How far in advance of a big event should I book?

Because subtle lifting continues to evolve for 12 weeks, we advise scheduling Sofwave three months before weddings, reunions, or photo shoots for peak results. In a pinch, you can still benefit from the early collagen “snap-back” as soon as four weeks post-treatment—but earlier planning maximizes the wow factor.
